Spielberg, NBC team up with Apple to bring us the all-new Amazing Stories 10.

Nah, I’m not going to get tired of that joke any time soon. Anyway: “Amblin Entertainment and producer Steven Spielberg are teaming up with Apple to produce a reboot of the classic 1980s anthology series Amazing Stories.” Geektyrant is, I think, only mildly realistically hopeful that they won’t simply recycle all of the old episodes.  Why only ‘mildly?’ Well… there’s a certain perception here on my part that all of the people and companies are, ah, how do I put this?  Well, you might very well say that their best work is behind them, but I couldn’t possibly comment. Except definitely in Apple’s case: they’re coasting on inertia and nostalgia.

But, hey, I’d be happy to be proved wrong on this.

  1. I never saw the show while it aired. I’ve since seen exactly one episode. Seen it on more than one occasion, in fact. That episode is “Family Dog”.

I literally don’t know a single thing about any other episode. But “Family Dog” is pretty good.
