PS: I should probably note here that I happen to despise the SOB personally; I just don’t think that he’s going to throw nukes at us, or in fact do anything much except be the de facto Little Father for the rest of his life. Which scenario apparently the Russians themselves aren’t too upset about, so what the hell can we do about it?

  2. Why yes, I do think a KGB man (there’s no such thing as an ex-KGB man, after all) would approve of vain-glorious, attention-grabbing, yet ineffectual means of protest. Especially since there’s a fair-to-middling chance that the KGB most likely taught those same techniques to left-wing agitprop groups. It’s like a teacher praising a student of one of his students.
