(Via Hot Air Headlines) This would be very, very stupid of Eric Holder:
Attorney General Eric Holder faces a crucial decision on whether to press federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman, after the neighborhood watchman was acquitted Saturday in the shooting death of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin.
The NAACP and other leading civil rights groups are pressing for Holder to open a federal case against Zimmerman, after he was found not guilty on second-degree murder and manslaughter charges by a Florida jury.
…so I figure that he’s going to do it.

PS: The idea here would be to prosecute Zimmerman on civil rights charges. Only, this is why trying that gambit would be very, very stupid of Eric Holder:
After interviewing 30 people familiar with George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain charged with killing African-American teenager Trayvon Martin, FBI agents found no evidence that the shooting was driven by racial bias or animus.
Having one part of the Executive branch decide to ignore the highly relevant conclusions of another part of the Executive branch in order to prosecute somebody doesn’t exactly promise a scenario that will end at all well for the Executive branch. Seriously, what was the point of having the FBI investigate if their conclusions are just going to be ignored?
But then, we have evidence that Eric Holder is very, very stupid.
Because Eric Holder will act on behalf of His People, for the National Conversation on Race in it.
.
Cowards.
Oh, forget one part of the executive branch, it’s one part of the Justice Department preparing to ignore the conclusions of another.
It’s worse than that. It would be a boss preparing to ignore the advice of his own people who were on the ground, because even though all the evidence points one way, he has his own theory.
Indeed. And if anything, Holder is like unto the pointy-haired demon boss from Dilbert promoted way too high.
Obama will have Holder push for it for no other reason than to distract his base. The question becomes how do we make the focus on his persecution of an Hispanic while he fails to pass immigration reform?
Well, given the choice of dealing with the violence in Chicago or persecuting Zimmerman, which do you think the cowards will take?
.
.
.
Right. They’ll persecute Zimmerman. Not least of all because the violence in Chicago is BY DESIGN and an committed by an essential part of the city’s governing coalition.
The point of the DOJ investigation is to leak.
Naw. To attack, once more, the right of self-defense.
Maybe .. they do seem to be trying to knock down “Stand Your Ground”…
.
Which is just bat-guano *insane* ..
.
