…the best way that she knows how:
[Nancy Pelosi] also gave her most emphatic statement yet that she intends to stick around at least through 2016, knocking aside earlier than previous years the whispers that she might retire after another election. “I am staying on for two more years. I’m running for re-election,” she said.
Pelosi did not specifically say whether she would stay on as minority leader, but it’s impossible to think she would leave her leadership post and return to the rank-and-file after eight years as minority leader and four more as speaker.
Let me be kind of blunt, here. Nancy Pelosi is not very good at her job. I understand that the 2006 and 2008 House elections took place under her aegis; but then, so did the 2004 and 2010 ones. For that matter: Pelosi drastically under-performed in the 2012 elections, and everybody in the world is pretty much in agreement at this point that the Republicans are going to increase their lead in the House still further in November. Speaking dispassionately, Nancy Pelosi apparently doesn’t have anything to do with how well her party does in the House of Representatives. Win or lose, it’s pretty much as a result of national trends, not local ones.
Look, I’m down right ecstatic about the thought that Pelosi is going to continue to lead the Democratic House caucus in these next few years. There’s nothing better in one’s opponents than them having a ‘leader’ who raises lots of money, then scatters it to the four winds. I really and truly do not understand why the Democrats keep her, though. Or why they’re apparently resigned to keeping her for the foreseeable future.

Because she’s a far-left whackjob, and most of the Democratic base is comprised of far-left whackjobs?
WE HAVE A WINNAH!!!!
