There’s a movie in this characte, I’m telling you. And it’ll make money, too! Marvel seems to be good at making money out of its superhero properties.
There’s a movie in John Carter as well. Or Soloman Kane. Or Kull. Or Aquaman. Or Johnny Rico. Or most of Clark Ashton Smith’s short stories. Or…

The trick isn’t finding good material.
It’s finding writers/directors/actors/producers who love and respect the material.
Exactly the opposite of what recently happened with John Carter and Conan.
Or the most recent episode of Squirrel Girl, for that matter.
The plot was no worse than many, but the angular/abstract art did not work with the character or story. At all.
I will note that the title for Volume 2 is “The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl 2: Squirrel You Know It’s True.”
.
Someone at Marvel must pay for that pun.
That’s amazingly…
Pitch-prefect for the character.
