As the saying goes: I expected this, but not so soon.
The first meaningful public conversation with cast and creatives about Star Wars: Episode VIII and the franchise stand-alone Han Solo movie highlighted the marquee panel on the third and final day of Star Wars Celebration Europe. Panelists included new Han Solo star Alden Ehrenreich, who made his first public appearance sinceDeadline scooped he was being cast in the iconic role.
Welp. This is not about the actor or the role (a young Han Solo): it’s mostly about me. We are all getting older, and the world is moving on; and I suppose that it was inevitable that somebody would say Hey, let’s see Han Solo, just starting out! I’m not even mad, or fan-raging, or anything like that. If Rogue One works out then I figure that the franchise is being run by competent enough people who will give me new Star Wars content every year, for the rest of my life. And that’s a pretty good deal, really.
But dang. I could have sworn that I was thirty, just last week. Where does the time go?

Hey, the good news is that Thrawn is officially part of the new Star Wars canon. 🙂
With Zahn writing a book, no less!
