Apparently he found Jesus and is doing ministry and whatnot. So, never mind my cynicism, neh?
Considering how many rappers crash, burn, and wind up filled with bullets and/or drugs well over the LD50 line, I’d say it was more realism than cynicism.
He was unwise with his money, and then Gangster Rap supplanted the kind of work he was doing, and the revenue dried up. As far as I know, he was already a religious man when he was famous.
I once drove past his house in the Fremont hills. It said “Hammer Time” on the gates. I think that was after he had lost it, though.
