The punctuation vigilante that Bristol needs…

…not the one that it deserves:

self-styled ‘grammar vigilante’ has revealed that he has spent years changing offending shop signs in the dead of night.

Wielding an ‘apostrophiser’ – a broom handle laden with two sponges and a number of stickers – the man has corrected tens of missing and misplaced apostrophes on shop banners across Bristol over the past 13 years.

Let me be the first to say that of course one should not go around fixing other people’s horrible outrages against the English language badly-punctuated signs.  I do not endorse this behavior at all.  Nope. Not me. Nowhere here will you see the slightest hint of public approval on my part…
