It’s bizarre, how fun the show was, how fun the movie was… and how fun the sequel was, too. Usually you’re going to strike out at some point there, but they never did. And damn but I miss Raul Julia.

Addams Family Values was hit-and-miss for me. The best part of the movie was Wednesday Addams going to camp part.

If I was building my dream Addams Family, I would transfer Carolyn Jones’ Morticia Addams to the movie universe. Nothing against Anjelica Huston, but Jones had flare that Huston’s muted Morticia lacked.
Also, the Addams Family pinball machine broke the all-time record for highest production run of a pinball machine, previously held by Captain Fantastic. TAFs in top condition can still fetch $8,000-$10,000 or so– quite a bit more than they sold for when they were new.
That TV show was background for my childhood.
Also worth a look are the Charles Addams cartoons that inspired the TV show and movies. They have a different feel to them (Gomez is more like Peter Lorre), but still very good.
