Never for very long, but when I went out to get pizza for the kids and chicken tacos for the wife* I saw at least one tree just flat-out ripped out of the ground and another one that’s going to fall some time today. There’s no rain right now and the sun keeps coming out, but it’s still a lousy day out there. And I figure that the power can cut out at any time.
So, if you’re in the Northeast: stay home. Unless you can walk to get the pizza and beer. Going out otherwise ain’t worth it.

It’s sunny and very windy here in Tidewater/Hampton Roads VA. Power flickered a few times earlier but is steady now.

No uprooted trees yet (ground is saturated so no promises), just a lot of branches strewn about.
