Decided to bite the bullet after this Guardian review. I have found that there’s a certain stripe of negative reviewer — typically grim, humorless, and visibly upset that people aren’t sufficiently visibly upset about the correct things — that provides valuable feedback; if they hate it, it’s probably good. That rule of thumb worked for The Death Of Stalin, it worked for the Jack Ryan TV show, and hopefully it’ll work for Overlord.
Note that I have no real expectations for greatness from Overlord, mind you. I am looking for something good, yet cheesy. If I get that, we are golden.
I’m not sure if this movie is going to make that reviewer explode from Americans being shown to be awesome, or from Nazis being shown to be truly evil.
