You don’t see this kind of historical horror often. Although I do have to admit that I’m not sure that there won’t be an unpleasant subtext to it. Which I hate to write out; and hopefully I’m wrong.

The trailer is a bit ‘muddied’ shall we say. On the one hand, it looks like the lady creates the Golem for ‘reasons’- which are not readily apparent from the trailer (perhaps inability to have a child of her own?)- then wackiness/persecution ensues.

I am not real familiar with the story, but IIRC, the Golem was created because of already existing persecution of the Jews living in Eastern Europe. I could be wrong.
