Those risk-crazy kids at Sony.
I’m being hyper-sarcastic, of course. They’d make a sequel if Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse had made a bunch of money OR had been a critical success OR racked up an Oscar for Best Animated Picture: but when you get all three, you clear your calendars and fake-grimace when various people start discreetly making the More Money hand gesture at you*. As somebody once said, there were two chances that this project wouldn’t be green-lit: fat, and slim.
Also: can’t wait! I also wouldn’t mind more Spider-Noir, but I already know that ain’t happening. Which is a shame, really.

*Fake-grimace because they know that it’s coming, and they even know that it makes long-term sense to keep the talent chipper and invested, you know what I mean? As long as nobody goes nuts about it, of course.
I am guessing I am not the only one who played Spiderman on PS4 using the Noir suit.
The problem is that the first was so unique in concept in execution, there’s not much room for the sequel between being just a retread of the original, or abandoning too much of what made the first one special.
