I think that I have a plan now.
Jimmie put away the binoculars. “I count twenty, thirty Dominion soldiers in the garrison. Five mages. You?”
“About the same, milord. Plus at least two swarms of Dire Hornets, and a flash of some kind of strange beast I’ve never seen before. Like a monkey shoved on top of a tripod.”
“How many eyes?”
“Three, I think. Why, does that make a difference? I would have thought that my description was specific enough.”
“Not when it’s the Dominion. They just love to mess around with monsters, and they just love scaring their peasants with local nightmares. If it has three eyes, it’s a Renfield. If only two, it’s a Cohol.”
“And the Renfield is more dangerous, naturally,” said Leo.
“Yup,” agreed Jimmie. “How did you know?”
“Our luck has been consistent that way. Do you have a plan?”
