*I still remember the first time I heard that in Mass Effect 3. It made me grin and say aloud, “Aww, Jack. I missed you, too.” And I had. Jack was my FemShep’s id, saying a lot of the stuff I’d have had my character say if it wasn’t for the, you know, entire Queen of the Girl Scouts thing.
I am looking forward to this one.

Fun trailer. Not sure the concept can be stretched out to 90+ minutes and still be interesting.
I don’t think they’re going for interesting here. It just looks like an action movie/rom com; I’m not sure how interesting the plot conceit is going to be in the first place. Fun yes.
Action movie, plus rom-com, with a side trip into the philosophy of reality and perception being delivered in snappy dialogue?
Hitting those beats in 120 minutes is going to be tight.
Even if they totally deus ex machina the happily ever after.

You’re right that Rule of Cool won’t carry it the distance. It’s got to have heart as well. But the trailers (and Ryan Reynolds) have me optimistic.
Dune pushed out to 2021, so this is now the only movie I’m interested in seeing in theaters this year. Not a high bar, but still…
