More seriously, I love these things … not because they never, for the whole summer, shut the (ahem) up .. but because they operate on a much longer time scale than humans, and .. just enough larval humans seem to learn somethin’ from that.

I’m already cringing at the prospect of a desiccated husk hiding under a doorknob, and feeling the crunch in my hand.
