I’ve got a full weekend ahead; Halloween approaches, and we’re going to have a proper one this Sunday. Which means, among other things, that I need to come up with good snack food for the day. Something simple, harvest-style (not spooky-style), and with as little cooking as possible. I’d make a gallon of hot cider, but I’m the only one who’d be drinking it…

Do popcorn balls count as actual cooking? They’re a pain but can be done days ahead of time, and in small-ish batches, and using microwave popcorn if you don’t want to mess with popping on the stovetop. They’re also something the younger Lanes might get their hands into. (just .. make sure they’re clean and well oiled hands, please)

Turning down mulled cider?
That’s practically inhuman!
(Unless it’s the powdered mix. That stuff is A Thing That Should Not Be.)
Of course, there’s always the option of mulled wine, instead…
Apples. It’s that time of year. Cook them, candy them, cover them in caramel, slice and serve with peanut butter, etc.
