The first words on ELEMENTAL are back, and it’s getting good reviews on both sides of the Rotten Tomatoes matrix. …Good God, how did we get to this place? How is it that Pixar now has to greet movie release dates with white-knuckled hands?
Those are both rhetorical questions.
As much as Rotten Tomatoes has been “moderating” reviews, and as the theme of the movie is SJW bait…
I roll to disbelieve.
It looks like a fantasy “guess who’s coming to dinner”. SJW themes can make it in the movie, but it isn’t obvious which way they will go, any more than Zootopia had an obvious direction of racism in the interactions between predators and prey. I have no intention to give Disney my money any time soon without a very good product, and Elemental doesn’t have a good enough hook to interest me. Ten years ago I would probably have made plans to take my kids to see it, but Disney burnt my goodwill too many times over the last decade.
No question is rhetorical if comments aren’t disabled…
