Short version: …huh. So that’s what a Wes Anderson movie is like on the big screen, huh? Neat.
Somewhat longer version: I liked ASTEROID CITY very much. It’s a very layered movie which is operating on several levels, at least one of which you won’t realize until you stick around for the final credits. One thing that surprised me was that I was subconsciously expecting it to be depressing, for some reason. I’m not sure why. But, plotwise: things largely worked out. …I think. There might be another level of cynicism that I missed; this was the first Wes Anderson movie I’ve seen in theaters.
It was good. Check it out.
