IF this edition of Penzance fails to age well on film, might I recommend the Australian TV production with Simon Gallagher and John English. Their trillogy of Penzance, Pinnafore, and Mikado was hilarious. https://youtu.be/ZIMrw1qZ23Y?t=30
The Steampunk version I was in still remains my favorite adaptation to this day. A wind-up pirate robot (played by a very patient and talented young person), props (I still have one) painted with the gilded style, and a running gag with an airship in the background, including a Ruth who “landed” from it.
