I’m impressed with Baldur’s Gate 3’s game engine.

It’s crisp, smooth, no stuttering, and intuitive once you figure out what the keys do. I assume everybody spam-saves before doing dice checks, yes? Because I am totally doing that, and I don’t care what that says about me.

Check out Baldur’s Gate 3* if you haven’t already… oh, who am I kidding? I am one of the last people in my demographic to download the game.

PS: High Elven bard. I thought about one of the other classes, but the high Charisma and extended proficiency checks sold me.

PPS: Do I end up punching the white-haired dude on the cover in the face? He kind of has a punchable face.

*I’d put in an Amazon link, except that the PS5 version is going for one hundred and twenty bucks? What’s up with that?

  1. Among the last, perhaps. I haven’t bought it yet either. If it’s anything like the first two Baldur’s Gate games, it might be better for me to avoid it. I had…dependency issues with those games. 18 hour per day dependency issues…

  2. Yes, he has a very punchable face. Made even more so by his behavior!

He’s extremely well done. I really don’t like him, but my niece loves him!

Actually, that’s true for most of it. Kudos to them. And kudos for walking away at the top of their game to tackle new projects.
