The ‘negative interest now’ VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE BLOODLINES 2 trailer.

Yeah. The mantra is ‘no preorder,’ and I can sorta see why. This game screams ‘development Hell,’ the character faces and skins would have looked good in 2016, and there’s just something obnoxious about trying to make a Nosferatu look winsome. I don’t even mean the transgender thing. The World of Darkness has incorporated that stuff since long before it was trendy. But male, female, nonbinary, whatever: Nosferatu are supposed to be ugly. It’s the bloody, ha, point of that Clan.

I’d be looking for a refund from Steam, except I don’t think I can get one without wasting yet more of my precious time, which is worth more than the money I’d get back. Which basically would make my playing VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE BLOODLINES 2 an example of the sunk cost fallacy. I’d be better off just writing the whole thing off as a gambling expense, except that I can’t even do that.

So, hey! I guess they win. Well done, folks. Well freaking done.

  1. Pretty sure this, the new Dragon Age, Dustborn, and Concord all together will sell significantly fewer copies than Space Marine 2.

Do better, AAA game companies. Do better.
