I could have done this. I mean, if my family had a maritime tradition instead of a railroad one. I could have done ship stuff.

Sadly, our merchant marine and transport infrastructure has been allowed to degrade to almost nonexistent status.
I wouldn’t have minded spending a couple years of my youth on a tramp steamer.
