In the e-Mail: The Terror.

There’s a TV show adapted from Dan Simmons’ The Terror available on Amazon Prime, and when I saw that it was a supernatural horror retelling of the ill-fated Franklin Arctic expedition I was definitely interested. I kind of want to combine that expedition with Frankenstein in some way, so I decided to grab the book. It’s not the same thing, but I figure that I’ll know enough about events to do some proper research on the subject. Besides, the book’s apparently really good.

  1. Most of the book is really fricking good.
It breaks down a bit at the end, as horror stories where the author feels the need to explain the monster tend to do. (On the bright side, it’s supernatural rather than alien.)
