Fairly good news, all things considering: 200K jobs added, unemployment ticked down to 8.5%. A good deal of that is seasonal, unfortunately: still, we can hope that it’s sustained in the upcoming months.
Fair warning: you probably don’t want to look to closely under the hood of this month’s report: there’s some really depressing-to-Americans stuff in there about job growth stagnation, like the fact that we’re still having that problem.
Holy Hell. We need to add 350K jobs to actually lower REAL unemployment. This is not good news for Obama, at all.
Gator that’s not the point, the point is that from now on we are going to be losing people from the jobless roles until It Looks Like there is less unemployment. It’s a mirage, and those who don’t pay attention might just buy the HYPE. The Whole Point Is To Re-elect O’bama, nothing else matters to them but retaining Power.
OTOH I’ve personally noted a distinct uptick in job postings lately which I cynically expect to continue until the elections, then magically disappear as the economy nose-dives into 2013.
As Catseye says, ‘anything to re-elect teh won’.
