September 30th. I have a reasonably good chance of finding this movie in a theater that’s no more than two, three hours away, so I’ve signed up to have them let me know when tickets are available. Because I will see The Iron Giant on the big screen, if I can.

  3. This looks like .. an expansion on an existing (and pretty decent) business model.
    .
    Some movies (most of the Miyazaki works, hint hint) have a different feel on the big screen – especially over a laptop or *shudder* phone.
    .
    So .. some of the big cineplexes have been splitting off a couple smaller screens and showing old classics early in the day, or when there’s just not much demand for the new stuff.
    .
    This looks like the studio trying to figure out how to join the trend…
    .
    It *should* work out rather well ..
