I just saw it, in fact. Now, to clarify: I liked it better than Ghostbusters 2. But then, I also liked Ghostbusters 2, more or less; so my tastes may be suspect, here. Still, the people who made this flick pretty clearly liked the original Ghostbusters; they liked the engineering toys and the made-up pseudo-scientific jargon and they truly loved the slime. So they made a vehicle for a bunch of pretty good actors to goof around in and it looks like everybody had a fine old time doing so. I have no complaints. It’s not the greatest movie that I’ll see all year, but I had a good time.

I really loved it. Not as much as Ghostbusters 2 (I really liked 2, so you’re not alone), but I grew up watching those movies multiple times A DAY.
This has been the year where I learned that I just like what I like, and I just can’t trust critics. I liked BvS (and LOVED the Ultimate Edition) and didn’t much care for Civil War.
The guys who took down Star Wars prequels ABSOLUTELY HATED Ghostbusters (2016). They even destroyed the SJW narrative around the movie.
I didn’t like it. The best thing I can say about it is that I didn’t hate it. But it was way too referential for my tastes…and I like references. But I don’t like them when they’re clobbering me over the head with the force of a crowbar swung by Hulk Hogan.
Good review, but I still have no interest in watching it.
