Got some preliminary sketches back on COVENANTS, too.

I don’t want to show any of them because the artist’s still working, but I’m torn. They’re all good so far, but I can’t decide which one of two I like for the cover of COVENANTS. The best one of the four might be a little too busy for a cover, but I like it personally just a bit more than the second-best one. Fortunately, I have some time to think it over.

PS: In other news, the entire house has what is thankfully not Covid, in varying degrees (I’m not even sure if I really have it, or whether I’m being psychosomatic, out of sympathy). Fortunately, cold medicine seems to be shifting it for the worst sufferers…

I will need beta readers for the COVENANTS chapbook.

I’ve gotten an artist for it – Crynge, the same person who illustrated DUTIES – and I’m going through the manuscript now to make sure it’s good enough for her to come up with appropriate art. Since I’m doing that already, I decided to just power through the formatting and get it out to any beta readers. More efficient that way, right?

So: I figure I’ll have the first passthrough on COVENANTS done by Sunday. If you’re interested in doing a beta read after that, let me know. This one has longer stories in it, so keep that in mind.

Other news: there will also be a new chapbook.

Current title: COVENANTS. Same number of stories, but higher wordcount (about fifty four thousand words). All more or less in the horror genre, including a story set in the same universe as GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND. I expect that I can work on it when I am sick and tired of staring at the novel.

At some point I should consider collecting all of these chapbooks and releasing them in omnibus form. Although it vaguely feels like cheating, when I do it that way…
