It was fun! The basic idea of Smash Up is that it’s a card game where you pick two of eight factions (ours today were Pirate/Ninja, Zombie/Dinosaur, and Robots/Wizards), combine your particular factions into one deck, and then compete against the other players to win Bases. It’s a lot like Magic: the Gathering, except that the deck size is fixed and you can’t optimize it. Also, the basic strategy will change from game to game as people pick different combos. I personally got my butt kicked at it, but it was still enjoyable. Good for teenagers or the brighter sort of kids, I think.
