Started at 8 PM – nearly was late; had issues with finding a parking spot and then with the ticket – and went on until about 10:20 or so. They had a kid called Gabriela Bee open, who is a good kid and a good singer and who has the professional acumen to keep her song intros down below ten seconds*. That was about a half hour, and then they did a charity pitch for sponsoring kids in African communities. Simultaneously nice, and relentless.

Going to a Walk Off the Earth concert tonight!
Forgot I bought a ticket. Should be fun: I like the band and I expect that Walk Off the Earth will put on a good live show. I also assume that I will be the oldest one there, and honestly that has a certain appeal. I am now approaching the age where I can produce a certain amount of bemused cognitive dissonance in certain venues simply by showing up. If I get one confused look on somebody’s face at the site, then my work there will be done.
Besides, it’s good for the kids to be not-scared surprised every so often. Keeps the old neurons firing, and so forth. There’s been studies done, surely.

Gonna see them Wednesday, actually. Kind of hoping for a spit-take from somebody else in the audience, tell you truthful.

‘Girls Like You.’
Someone on YouTube once told these guys something like “What is it with you guys? You keep making me like songs that I hate.”
…Yeah.
‘Feliz Navidad.’

Walk Off The Earth 2019 tour announced.
Details here. At a site close to me, too. I did have tickets for the Walk Off the Earth tour earlier this year, but I was simultaneously sick and a bit down in the dumps that weekend. Hopefully I’ll be better next time. ‘Course, I’m probably also likely to be about twice the age of everybody else there, but I can live with that. As long as it isn’t noise yet, I should be fine.

PS: I listened to a bunch of pop music on my way back from Atlantia’s Unevent (SCA kingdom-level business meeting; I’m a baronial officer now. Just as exciting as it sounds). It was thankfully not noise. I even quite liked some of it. Then again, I have forgiving tastes in music.

The kids? …They’re all right.
‘Summer Vibe.’
‘REVO.’
I had tickets, but I was thoroughly sick that day. Might have gotten it from the Weird Al concert. …Well, if I did it was still worth it; but I would have liked to have seen them play.
‘You Don’t Know How It Feels.’ (Cover)
I like this because it’s not as polished. Of course, you know how Walk off the Earth is. ‘Not as polished’ is a relative term.

PS: Gonna go see ’em in concert in March. And won’t THAT confuse the other concert goers.
