Wait, I’ve seen this movie.

Yeah, I can’t see how this will end badly:

Villagers and veteran hunters have captured a one-ton saltwater crocodile which they plan to make the star of a planned ecotourism park in a southern Philippine town, an official said Monday.

Let’s go down the list, shall we?

  • Giant crocodile (as in, one ton)? Check.
  • Giant crocodile somehow captured alive?  Check.
  • Giant, captured alive crocodile not immediately killed, because there are plans to put it instead in a brand-new eco-tourism facility?  Check.
  • Is the planned facility going to be out in the middle of nowhere?  Of course it is.

Jeebus.  This is like watching the city council vote to incorporate the recently discovered subterranean catacombs that have green mist oozing out of them on nights of the full moon into plans to expand the subway system.  Or do anything with a pre-Columbian burial ground, besides get sued by the local Native American tribe over it.
