You’re in Lancaster? That’s where the first Weimers started out as refugees from the Germanies (area is now in France) and as subjects of the Crown in 1751.
Suffice it to say, my ancestor (middle brother) Johan, AKA John Dewatt Weimer, Corporal (sharpshooter), acquitted himself quite well in Capt Riley’s Company, 3rd Pennsylvania in that bit of a tiff with the King.
