Live by the regulatory regime, die by it: “GOP lawmakers plan to employ the seldom-used Congressional Review Act (CRA), which gives lawmakers the power to formally disapprove of major agency rules, as they seek to ratchet up their attacks on federal red tape.” Basically, what happens is that Congress can – through a simple majority, that cannot be filibustered – target any rule within 60 days of implementation. It’s not even remotely a slam dunk – the President can veto Congress on this as usual, and then Congress would have to override the veto – but the plan is to start on the EPA rulings, which everybody hates.
Basically, the goal for Congress for the next two years is to keep putting stuff on Barack Obama’s desk that he absolutely has to make a decision on. Finally. At long last. So if Barack Obama really wants to be a liberal so badly, fine. But the time for him to never make a choice has passed. Hopefully, that will be much to the chagrin of every Democrat to Barack Obama’s right.

PS: Everything we target now would be a lead-pipe cinch to target again more formally in 2017, assuming both Houses of Congress and the Presidency. And that would be an awesome thing to growl at our legislators over. You did this once, neighbor. You can blessed well do it again.
So, that means he can’t vote present? 🙂
Needs the full congress to do this, then?

If this is a thing that happens, my pessimism with regard to the GOP will be reduced….. as always, I’m not holding my breath.
That’s what…about 3 of them, these days?
