CNN/ORC: Americans getting unhappy over US response to the Islamic State Death Cult.

It’ll be interesting to see whether this poll is part of a trend:

The CNN/ORC poll found 57% of Americans disapprove of how Obama is handling the threat posed by ISIS, a significant decline in support for the President over the past few months. In late September, that number was 49%.

Fifty-seven percent disapprove of his handling of foreign affairs more broadly, and 54% disapprove of how the President is handling terrorism. Another 60% rate Obama negatively on his handling of electronic national security.

…and you know how we’ll know? If and when Democratic candidates in 2016 start sounding like super-hawks. Which won’t really save them, of course – true Democratic hawks have been squeezed out of elected office over the last decade, usually by the politicians now trying to pretend to emulate them – but if the effort is made it’ll be for a reason. And when I say ‘Democratic candidates’ I mean ones below running for anything below the level of President. I don’t think that even a faux-hawk can win the Democratic Presidential nomination at this point.  Too many extremist progressive voters in the primaries.

  1. “People keep on asking me if I’m unhappy. Yeah I’m thinking I’m unhappy.”

I’ll have to st..err.. borrow that last line though.

  2. The big takeaway is that 43% of the population is willfully ignorant.
    .
Granted, this is not exactly news.

  3. the only ones who disapprove are the bitter clingers out in flyover country. they don’t matter except during elections and the press can tell them who to vote for.

  4. Pretty simple here– democrats want credit for freebies without taking responsibility for the costs.
