Nothing actually bad happened, per se. It’s just that I had to take my wife for one of those medical things where there’s never any good news; just bad and not-bad-so-come-back-in-a-year. As you might guess, we got not-bad-so-come-back-in-a-year… so, huzzah.
So I’m not in a wretched mood, but neither is it all sunshine and unicorns right now.
I have prayed for your lady and your family and will try to remember to do so regularly. Stout hearts, brother.

This is why ‘drawing rooms were invented, y’know .. to “withdraw” from social events when some privacy is needed and/or desired.

I suggest banishing yourself from the internet and cooking your beloved a favorite dish may help.
