Unfinished poem (#nationalpoetryday): ‘Prince.’

I got the first verse out right away, and then the inspiration just sort of stopped. Maybe it was the choice of song for filking.  Still, dammit, “Ziggy Stardust” just worked.  Anyway:

Prince, he played guitar
Jamming tight, yet willy-nilly
In the clubs and the bars;
He played to command
Knew he was the star
Became the Symbol Man
And we were Prince’s fans…

This year.  This goram year.

    p.s. 2016 – brought to you by Quentin Tarantino and Michael Bay

    1. Honestly, QT and MB should have done a better job. The dialog and special fx have been sub par.

      1. What the hurricane with a *skull face* wasn’t a cool fx?

        The animatronic presidential candidate – who won’t be revealed as a robot until mumble – isn’t a cool fx?

        How about the one where the spaceship landed on its’ pillar of flame, the way God and Robert Heinlein always meant it to be?

        Chicago’s murder rate *certainly* counts as gratuitous violence …

        Honestly, you movie critics .. never satisfied!
