Tweet of the Day, I’ve Never Gotten Into Audiobooks… edition.

…but I know that people who read me do get into audiobooks.  And I did read and like Delta Green: Tales from Failed Anatomies. Heck, I’d hope that I would; I did the Kickstarter for it. So check this out.

PS: I’ve actually wondered from time to time why I don’t get into audiobooks. Maybe I like going back and checking the text too much? It’s hard to do that with audio.  At least I perceive it as being hard.

  1. As a general rule, I don’t like them, either.
    .
But they’re great when you’re driving long distances.

  2. Different parts of the brain process written language and spoken language.
    .
I have a strong preference for processing written language over processing spoken language
.. part of it is the ability to jump back and re-read
.. part of it is I can read a *lot* faster than most people can talk .. and anyone talking *that* fast is trying to slide something by me because I can’t go back and check it ..
.. part of it is my backstory leads me to expect talking to escalate to shouting
    .
I prefer peaceful reading .. and sometimes music .. to the spoken word.
