Not familiar with the actress, but what clips there are of her suggests that Anna Diop can act. Really, the issue is with how they write the character. I pretty much want Starfire to be the Starfire from the first, actually good, Teen Titans animated show; and I’m, and going to stay, unreasonable about this.

I’d love to see a faithful adaptation of the Marv Wolfman / George Perez Starfire, big red hair, golden skin and a chest that was, well quite frankly impressive in it’s gravity defying ability. I know alot of people liked the animated version but although the book was “The New Teen Titans” most of the characters were above the age of consent and acted that way. It was great!
