I’m going to guess that this is drawing directly from the 2013 Tomb Raider game — which is currently in my hard drive. I’m not sure why I haven’t gotten back to it, either. I mean, it’s a good game. Maybe it’s because it requires too much button-mashing and quick time events? Those get old, fast.
Anyway; it’s a videogame movie, so there’s a pretty good chance that it’s going to be pretty bad. Or, rather, there’s only a small chance that it’s going to be any good (if we’re going to be brutally honest about it). My only hope in all of this is that the trailer isn’t awful, and you could make a decent flick out of watching a fit young woman with a bow and twin pistols climb, swing, and sneak her way through the jungle. I mean, it’s not like such a thing would violate physical law as we understand it.
