Nah, I just do historical re-enactment. That means I get exposed to a lot of sea shanties and traditional music.
Interesting. I had never heard the “American” version of this song until quite recently, and it still sounds a little odd to my ears. Need to find more stuff by this group, by the way.
Really? I have a couple of versions of the American whaling version floating around. In fact, the version I heard first is about twice as slow as normal, which still makes all other versions sound slightly weird in my ear.
Fun! Yeah, we sang mostly sea shanties and folk music. (We learned the British version of this song) It will be interesting to see what others you post.
