Either that, or he’s lost all situational awareness of the relationship between cause and effect.
…not only do we have $12 trillion in debt, not only have we mortgaged ourselves to the Chinese, but the tragedy of it is, we have absolutely nothing to show for it, absolutely nothing to show for it. We haven’t invested in our roads, our bridges, our transportation, our ports, anything.
“I think passing the recovery package was an essential thing to do in order to save us from, you know, the Great Depression,” [Bennet] said.
Michael Bennet, D-Colo,at a town hall meeting in Greeley last Saturday, Aug 21 said we had nothing to show for the debt incurred by the stimulus package and other expenditures calling the recession the worst since the Great Depression. […]
Regarding spending during his time in office he said, “We have managed to acquire $13 trillion of debt on our balance sheet” and, “in my view we have nothing to show for it.”
“I voted for [the stimulus], and I’m glad I did.”
The NRSC – which, by the way, has been better at not holding a grudge at the way that base Republicans keep knocking off its primary candidates* than it’s getting credit for – has wasted no time in taking advantage of this for Ken Buck.
I wish that Bennet would make up his mind. Or at least find the courage to actually speak it.

*Before anybody feels the need to splutter the usual bravado about how the grassroots doesn’t need the help of a national organization with 22 million dollars earmarked for the general election, tell me: what happens when you provide negative reinforcement for bad behavior, but never provide positive reinforcement for good behavior? To dumb it down some, in fact: would some of you treat a puppy the way that some of you treat the NRSC**?
No, don’t justify yourself to me. I’m not interested, because I’m too busy trying to maximize our wins in the 2010 election to chew the bitter bones of primary season grievances. Put another way: the primaries are over, people. We won them. They can’t fight us anymore over proper candidates.
**'[Expletive deleted] the NRSC‘ is not actually thinking. If you don’t like me saying so, then I suggest that you try the Democratic party. They’re always happy to tell you precisely what you want to hear.

He just doesn’t think you know enough to figure out he is lying.
It’s happening a lot these days, playing on ignorance, it’s all they have left.
