The House is shaping up nicely as regards to a bloodbath; I see +6 GOP so far, with a good shot at CO, a we’ll-see on WA, and maybe a jumping-the-gun on CA*; and the governor’s races gave us more than we lost (especially when you look at a 2012 map).
And then there’s all the personal satisfactions. Nikki Haley, Marco Rubio, Rob Portman, Pat Toomey; Alan Grayson, Bob Etheridge, Carol Shea-Porter, the goram ‘Blue Dog’ coalition; a lot of Family business got settled tonight.
*And all of our folks successfully defended.
The Senate map tonight is particularly striking; modulo Colorado which is probably going to a recount anyways, there’s an awful lot of red in there between West Virginia and Nevada. And while we may have a new RINO in Illinois, the Democrats have a new DINO in West Virginia– and that was defending an existing seat, whereas ours was a pickup.
Other big news: The GOP now has control of 33 House delegations. The Dems have only 15. Minnesota is split, and as far as I am aware, Washington could still go either way.
