Irvin Kershner, who directed the Star Wars sequel “The Empire Strikes Back” and the James Bond film “Never Say Never Again,” has died at age 87.
Especially since now there’s nothing stopping George Lucas from memory-holing “I know.”

PS: But to quote one of my colleagues upon hearing the news: “On the optimistic side, Kershner may now have become more powerful than we can possibly imagine.” Which is… a pleasant thought, in its way.
