Gimme a break, they don’t quite make these things for kids anymore anyway. Anyway, I keep seeing clips like this, which tells me that there are depths to the show:
I mean, seriously. They usually don’t let Batman be surprised at anything. Because he’s Batman. I love the character – he’s my favorite in the DC universe, except for possibly Plastic Man – but seeing him get blindsided like that was kind of endearing.
Via Nodwick.
I’m pretty sure that was the voice of Mrs. Fredericks from Warehouse 13! Does that mean Pete and Myka are going to show up at some later point in the storyline? Because a Warehouse/Justice League cross-over would rock. Though Pete would likely fanboy all over the place, so maybe Artie should go instead.
Yes, that’s CCH Pounder doing the voice of Amanda “The Wall” Waller. She’s often confused with the late Lynne Thigpen who played “The Chief” from the old “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” game show.
As for Batman being surprised, come on! She knows he’s Bruce Wayne. He keeps that as tight to the vest as he possibly can, how would he not be surprised some unknown government
Kevin: That’s the thing. Having not seen the rest of it, I don’t know – maybe she doesn’t know, and she just took the position that anybody with Batman’s resources would have to be loaded. Which means that the writers came up with a scenario where Batman got credibly bluffed. That suggests that the show may be worth further perusal. 🙂
Yeah Moe, you are a couple of years too late. That shows been off the air since, what, 2006? Talk about Johnny-Come-Lately.
The show is absolutely well written. I’ll also add that the writers that they got for all of those take offs were very very good. I wasn’t too keen on Batman Beyond until I saw a couple of episodes. Take them by themselves without the Batman history and it was really cool! The original Batman animated was awesome and they did actually make a difference with Superman Animated. But they really outdid themselves with the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Teen Titans – Not so much! But Justice League was excellent. You should try it – it will definately be worth the effort.
