*It’s a GURPS reference: it’s semantically equivalent to “The Future… TODAY!” or other memes suggesting that we’re living in the science fiction near-future world shown to us during our childhoods. ‘Course, I’ve been playing GURPS for so long that I remember the days when that would have been Tech Level 8 Watch; Steve Jackson Games had to redesign the Tech Level parameters when it turned out that we were going to have to wait a bit longer for prototype laser weapons and commercially viable fusion power…
Ever see the movie Idiocracy? Yeah, me too.
I loved Idiocracy. Some of the people I recommended it to didn’t seem to think it funny though. Mostly NW coasters, but you never can account for taste.
Good RP reference though. Made me giggle.
I didn’t think to much of it because it’s too close to the idiocy I see around me. That said RPG games have a problem with history making them irrelevant. I payed Twilight 2000 in the ’80’s just before the Soviet Union collapsed and took the game with it. To bad, it was a good game and we had a lot fun.
Sorry, played not payed.
