The Wall Street Journal, pointing out an Unfortunate Truth about Obama’s would-be Bain attacks:
…how to explain the history of Bain Capital? Mr. Romney started the business in 1984. The company has since bought and sold many businesses and executed thousands of financing transactions.
If Bain’s standard operating procedure were to hand the next owner of one of its companies a ticking bankruptcy package, how is Bain still finding buyers nearly three decades later? And who would agree to lend money to a company backed by Bain? Wouldn’t word have gotten around by, say, 1987 that Bain’s portfolio companies weren’t creditworthy?
Easy: Bain does fiscal black magic and use corporate death energy to perform eldritch* fiscal mind control on their next set of victims.
Hey, from the Democrats’ point of view it beats the truth. Which is that Barack Obama is a partisan willing to say a lot of absurd things, just to get re-elected. Although God only knows why: the man clearly hates the job, and not in the good way…

*Dammit, Firefox: ‘eldritch’ is a word.
I’ve actually made this argument to some lefties before. If Bain was bankrupting companies left and right, no one would extend them credit.
Your argument only works if the person your talking to believes in the action of free-market forces. Which the left, from what I can tell, mostly does not.
The FF dictionary leaves something to be desired….quite a lot, actually. But I do like the way FF works, so I put up with it.
