If you are a governor and/or a state legislator who favors setting up a state exchange on your own – instead of letting the federal government do it for you – then you are, to use a very useful epithet of S.M. Stirling’s, a natural-born damned fool. It’s not a question of waiting for the federal government to get its [expletive deleted] in gear. It’s not even a question of waiting for the federal government to get its thumb out of its [expletive deleted] so that it can get its [expletive deleted] in gear. Noooo, it’s a question of waiting for the Subcommittee for Pollexo-Cranial Operations to finish its preliminary survey so that the federal government can begin to revise the initial tentative timeline for establishing a universal procedure of acceptable methods for removing the thumb in an efficient manner.
I sometimes think that every urban liberal in America should be required to yearly get something out of their local Department of Motor Vehicles; preferably, something that the DMV doesn’t want to give them. It might prove to be… corrective… to their particular, and somewhat parochial, worldview.
Yes. Might.
The 2nd Amendment folks have been on a winning streak recently, lots of States now issue concealed carry permits.
.
Thing is, until Liberals want ’em, county and state bureaucrats can and *do* still muck things up – much as your proposed yearly encounter – which is why I thought of it.
.
Thing is, why *would* Liberals want black-magic death talismans? That’s the Hollywood depiction of a gun, after all …
.
I’m hoping that changes before police budgets are cut halfway through the bone and self-defense becomes a much more necessary life skill…

Someone clue Rick Scott in to this, please? I swear the man at this point is just asking to get bounced out in 2014.
ROFL, Moe, essential benefits is just the tip of the iceberg.
