Only three years to go before the guy currently in the White House has to leave it!
…Well, three years is better than ‘three years and one day,’ which is what it was yesterday. You have to keep the right mental perspective, is what I’m saying.

PS: Yes, I’m sure that some on the Left are snickering at this piece. If the choice was between that and having to confront the fact that the President’s gameplay is horrible at any setting above ‘Easy,’ I’d snicker too.
Three years until he has to leave, but will he leave? What makes you think he can’t disregard the 22nd?
I remember people saying that on Jan 22nd, 2009, George Bush was going to announce that he was Emperor of the United States.
.
Didn’t happen then, didn’t happen under Clinton, won’t happen under Obama. Even the most rabidly fanatical Democrat Congresscritter would know better than to support this.
The American system of government is far stronger than Barack Obama, even assuming that he was insane enough to want to stage a coup (which he is not). Besides, the last time I checked a list of the people most likely to support a hypothetical Obamacoup matches up pretty well with a list of the people least likely to own a gun.
“[T]he people most likely to support a hypothetical Obamacoup matches up pretty well with a list of the people least likely to own a gun.”
.
Our only saving grace.
.
Still, the damage is done. I can even cast my eyes to China, the EU, Russia, and realize that the numbers just do not add up anywhere. We ran out of other people’s money long ago. No one “makes” money these days, we just print money out of thin air now.
Ex-president is by far more congenial to Barack Obama than the actual job of President. He will be a celebrity, a demand on the lecture circuit, have the full time security detachment and deferential treatment everywhere, and get to play a lot of golf on someone else’s dime. For the rest of his life.
.
And everything will be other people’s fault (Okay, no real change there), and nobody will be making him make decisions. I predict a modestly miserable next thirty years for the rest of us, but it’s better than having him in office.
Don’t forget: If we get a Republican President next time, the press will go crying to Obama during any major event and ask how he would have handled it.
God, I hope so: that sounds like an excellent way to keep track of how not to do it.
