A United Nations science panel issued a sobering wake-up call to world policymakers Sunday, warning that countries must make dramatic changes in their energy consumption, their use of technology and even their ways of life to avert the catastrophic effects of climate change.
The only options that stand a chance of heading off the worst of the harm would require cutting at least slightly into economic growth in the coming decades, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said. Nations may even have to make ambitious attempts to remove carbon pollution from the atmosphere — not just limit how much comes out of smokestacks and tailpipes.
Thanks in advance!

If the economy keeps limping along or worsening by 2016, I would love to hear how the Dem nominee runs on this issue. Force them to supprt it and lose blue collar votes or reject it and have the greenies revolt on the left. Win/win.
I suggest instead the GOP campaign against UN growth and we take back Turtle Bay while we are at it.
If I ever found myself on the same side as “farts are killing the planet,” I’m going somewhere and never coming back.
Every so often some group will step forward to inform us that we’re all doomed — DOOOOOMED! — unless we give them complete oversight authority regarding how we run our lives and our governments. Now it’s the climate change fanatics. A few decades ago it was a group of psychiatrists and psychologists who insisted that unless everyone agreed to allow them to determine the sanity of all politicians and disqualify the “harmful” ones from holding office, a nuclear war was inevitable. Decades before that, it was the eugenicists and before them the phrenologists who claimed to be able to rank people from best to worst or society would collapse from degeneracy.
I wonder who it will be next time?
