Getting some purchases in:
- A Redtail’s Dream is an e-book version of Minna Sundberg’s rather massive – and recommended, by at least one reader here – webcomic based on Finnish legend. Ms. Sundberg is right now doing a post-apocalypse-but-not-horribly-grim-yet webcomic called Stand Still, Stay Silent, which has me utterly engrossed, so I was predisposed to buy her earlier work; the problem was that the print copy cost $90 to ship to America (she’s Swedish/Finnish). Fifteen bucks in e-form was a heck of a lot easier to justify on my budget.
- The Perils of the Lady Gamer/Edward Gorey’s “The Trouble With Tribbles” Flip Comic, on the other hand, is much more of a lark ($8.50 after shipping). Skin Horse‘s Shaenon Garrity put together the two “Edwardian nerd comics” for personal appearances at cons and whatnot, apparently, but some of her online readers demanded (ahem) that they be allowed to throw money at her, too. I look forward to seeing the end product.
I think that’s pretty much it, really.

PS: Seriously, SSSS is the business. Of course, so is Skin Horse.
Don’t forget to mention Ms. Garrity’s other webcomic, Monster of the Week: The Complete Cartoon X-Files … which is exactly what it says on the label.
